That is to say the Trojan with normal and comfortable complement of passengers effects a saving over walking 200 miles of £5.18s. 7d or over 7d. per mile. It is an extravagance to walk these days ! |

Trojan parts were remarkably cheap too. The solid tyres cost £2.0.0 each. Compared with £5.0.0 for a comparable pneumatic and they had a life of at least 10,000 miles as against 8,000 for a pneumatic and that needed very careful driving and a good dose of luck. |
