T.O.C. Newsbrief February 2009
Dear members of the Trojan Owners Club, as Secretary of the club and working with the Christine the membership secretary, we have identified that there are around 48 of our members that have internet and hence email links. Its my belief that we should make more use of the email facility in communicating with our members promoting regular monthly contact and news in a simple but brief format, This will NOT replace the super newsletter we have currently. I would welcome your feedback and/or comments, relating to this approach.
So here goes
> The January film/social event went very well, and I believe everybody who was able to attend enjoyed it .
> The date for the AGM has unfortunately had to be changed. The venue will remain at the Mid Hants Railway, Alresford. Date is now be the 19th April, further details to follow in the newsletter.
> Plans for the TWO STROKE event at Gaydon in April are progressing, thanks Carl. I believe this will prove to be a very interesting day !,
> The next committee meeting will be on the 22nd February, where we will be discussing amongst many others subjects necessary preparation for the AGM and Club website development.
> I have had an enquiry from a member recently regarding gear band lining thicknesses. I have advised him accordingly and that there are linings in the stores which are of good quality
> Messrs Potters and Wilton continue to use their Utilities for Trials events, having competed in three separate events during January 2009. The MCC Exeter Trial, The North Devon Trial and the Cotswolds Clouds event at Stroud. Results have been in line with expectations but more importantly the cars gave faultless service over around 700 miles and 50 'observed sections' . Its my understanding that Steve and John achieved 43 MPG on the drive back from Torbay !
> The addition of several ex Trojan apprentices to club membership has brought new enthusiasm, interest, and some super memories. I look forward to seeing and hearing more.
> We continue to see enquiries for the website, and I see there has been some 2300 hits to date, perhaps they are all me !, does anybody else look regularly.
I do hope this brief note will promote some member responses. I would appreciate if all responses can be directed to the following email address: potter.maples@btinternet.com
Thank you
