T.O.C. Newsbrief August 2009
Hello to all TOC members,
Yet another month has passed since the last briefing, and still it is raining! Just to let you know I have ordered sunshine all day for the Wiltshire Rally on September the 6th, lets hope so !
Club members feedback
Following the last newsbrief John Brown kindly e-mailed me to say that now his Trojan is again mobile he has entered and competed in a number of VSCC Light Car Trial events. Its great to hear of members' enjoying their vehicles in this manner. Thanks for the feedback John, we hope you can make it to the Wiltshire Rally.
Newsletter
By now you would have all received the latest excellent Newsletter. I don't know how David finds the time for all Club his activities and his young family. David, thank you for your considerable efforts, always appreciated
Past Events
Since my last communication the Oxford Rally has taken place. Unfortunately I was unable to attend at the last minute, to my disappointment, but I understand everything went very well and all enjoyed the event very much. Hopefully we will have a report and some pictures for the website.
Future events
Wiltshire Rally 6th September. Christine and I are currently planning a route for this event, not too long but interesting and scenic. Entry forms have been posted to you recently or can be download form the website events section. The lunch venue has a reputation for most excellent food and we feel privileged to secure this venue on a Sunday lunchtime. If you intend to attend, it is important that you can return the form as requested by 26th August. We look forward to a very special event and hope lots of persons and vehicles can make it to our home and the days events.
Website update
Nigel, the Club 'webmaster' has just added considerable new articles/reports/photos to the ever growing website. If possible please find the time to browse the site there is really a lot of interesting 'stuff' to review and comment on. My special thanks, and of the committee goes to all contributors and especially Nigel, who without his services all this would not be possible !
Another Trobike
This week we have seen another Trobike surface. We have had an application for membership from Dave Dixon who lives in the Andover area. A big welcome to Dave, hope you can make the next Club event !
Vehicle /Members info.
> I am advised this week that member John Wilton has completed the engine refurbishment of his Utility and his car is now back on the road again ready for the new trials season with 30 miles completed to date!!
> The PB engine in Richard Potter Utility had a recent big-end clatter. This engine has now been removed and replaced with his dads spare PH engine, whilst the PB issue is investigated.
> I recently completed some simple maintenance on David Vincents Trojan Brougham, trying to overcome a simple misfire at tick over speeds. This proved extremely elusive to solve but some considerable improvement was made to allow David to use the vehicle again.
Beaulieu Autojumble
Just a reminder that the largest UK auto-jumble takes place at Beaulieu in the New Forest on the weekend following the Wiltshire Rally ie Sept 12/13th.
The task here, if attending is to spot the Trojan spares which has been challenging over the years for regular attendees, David Hambleton, Steve Potter and John Wilton.
Trojan RE handbook on Ebay
Checking E bay this week as I regularly do, I noticed there is a Trojan RE instruction book for sale. Whilst it appeared expensive, I cannot ever recall seeing one before ...any bidders?
That's all this month except that I hope you can make it to our event in Wiltshire. We look forward to seeing as many members as possible.
